Visit the Balearic Islands
For a complete change of scenery why not visit one of the Balearic Islands. Daily ferry crossings run from the port of Valencia and Denia to Menorca, Majorca and Ibiza. See Links for details of Ferry Crossings.
Skiing
If snow is more your thing, you are just two hours from Valdelinares (Teruel), which at 1800 metres can accommodate skiers of all abilities. A little bit further, but still achievable by road (five hours drive away) are the Pyrenees, with some of the best ski resorts in Europe.
Madrid and Barcelona
Direct rail and road links mean that both cities are within 3-4 hours trarvelling time. Perhaps a little far for the day, but ideal for a weekend break. A new high speed line is planned between Valencia and Madrid which should cut the journey time to around two hours.
